Full Circle: A DoWEA journey that inspires the next generation
AVIANO, Italy – In every classroom there are stories that remind us why education matters not just for today, but for the future it helps shape. One such story is that of Ms. Tatiyona Moten, an Educational Aide whose journey from DoWEA student to educator-in-training represents the very best of what it means to learn, grow, and give back.
As a classroom teacher, working alongside Ms. Tatiyona is both inspiring and deeply meaningful. Her presence in our classroom is more than supportive – it is symbolic of the long-lasting impact DoWEA has on its students.
Ms. Tatiyona once sat at tables and desks just like the ones in our classroom today, attending DoWEA schools from Elementary School to the start of High School. Those early years helped shape her academic foundation and, more importantly, nurtured a sense of belonging, resilience, and purpose.
Even then, Ms. Tatiyona knew she wanted to become a teacher. That dream was influenced by the educators who invested in her, challenged her, and encouraged her to believe in her potential.
When her educational path later led her to public school, Ms. Tatiyona remained focused on that goal, intentionally pursuing an Early Childhood Educational Pathway. That experience deepened her understanding of teaching and strengthened her passion for working with young learners. It confirmed what she had long believed – education was not just a career choice, but a calling.
Today, Ms. Tatiyona has returned to DoWEA, this time as an Educational Aide, bringing her journey full circle. In our classroom, she demonstrates a natural ability to connect with students. She brings patience, positivity, and encouragement into every interaction, creating an environment where students feel safe, supported, and capable of success.
Whether she is helping a student work through a challenge or celebrating small victories, Ms. Tatiyona’s impact is felt in meaningful and lasting ways. Students trust her. They respond to her kindness and consistency. It is in those everyday moments – those quiet breakthroughs, those shared smiles – you can see growth happening.
Ms. Tatiyona understands, perhaps better than most, how powerful those moments can be because she once experienced them as a student. While supporting students each day, Ms. Tatiyona is also continuing her own journey by pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Her commitment to learning and growth reflects a deep dedication to becoming the kind of teacher who inspired her. Ms. Tatiyona is already developing the skills, mindset, and heart of an exceptional educator.
