Aviano Elementary School Spring Fling 2024: A celebration of learning and collaboration

Aviano Elementary School recently hosted its much-anticipated annual event, the Spring Fling 2024, where students, teachers, and parents came together to celebrate a showcase of learning and collaboration. This vibrant gathering highlighted the diverse talents and achievements of the school community, featuring a variety of activities and performances that showcased the students' growth and creativity.

Spring Fling is a showcase of learning in specials. Students demonstrated their skills and knowledge acquired in various special classes, including physical education, music, and host nation studies (Italian). In PE, guided by Enid Derricott and Julie Peressin, students delighted the audience with choreographed dances they had learned, showcasing their physical fitness and coordination. In music, led by Michael James, and host cation classes, with Isabella Guerin and Maurizio Trevisan, students performed songs they had been practicing, including Italian songs, offering a beautiful fusion of cultural appreciation and musical talent. Additionally, the art department, under the guidance of Shawna Haas, presented an impressive art show, displaying the stunning artwork created by students throughout the year.

A highlight of the event was the gallery walk, where students showcased their artwork and had the opportunity to see pieces from their classmates and students from other classes. Parents took the opportunity to take pictures, capturing the memorable moments and the creativity on display.

Treats for the event were generously funded by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and provided by the Army Air Force Exchange Store (AAFES) and the school cafeteria, adding a delightful touch to the festivities. Parents were invited to attend and watch as their children showcased their talents and skills on stage. The Spring Fling provided an excellent opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the achievements of their children in a supportive and festive atmosphere.

Each grade level had the opportunity to perform during their designated specials timeslot, allowing every student to shine and be recognized for their hard work and dedication. From energetic dance routines to soulful musical performances and captivating artwork displays, the Spring Fling was a true celebration of the talent and creativity thriving within the Aviano Elementary School community.

As the curtains closed on another successful Spring Fling, the school community reflected on the joyous moments shared and the memories created.
