Art Across Borders: Mini Masterpieces in Europe South
AVIANO, Italy – This spring, fourth‑ and fifth‑grade students across DoWEA Europe South participated in a collaborative mini art exchange. Students created small works of art that visually represented their local culture and community, aligning the project with multiple grade‑level visual arts standards. Using a variety of materials, students explored artistic techniques, participated in peer critiques to give and receive constructive feedback, and wrote artist statements that were attached to the back of each card. After exchanging the cards through the mail with other schools in the district, students engaged in guided discussions to analyze and reflect on the artwork they received, deepening their understanding of both art and the unique communities represented.
